Whole-Home Remodel

A whole-home remodel in Manhattan Beach built around warm, natural materials and Old World architectural detail. The heart of the home is the kitchen: a large black island with seating for five sits beneath oversized black pendants, set against a hand-laid limestone wall with a black range hood and brass pot filler. Boldly veined marble countertops, gray paneled cabinetry with brass bar pulls, and black steel-frame windows carry through the space, with exposed wood beams overhead.

Beyond the kitchen, a walk-in pantry pairs a checkerboard tile floor with floating shelves, and an arched bar niche holds dark wood shelving and twin beverage refrigerators. Plaster arches frame the dining room and foyer, where a curved plaster staircase with oak treads rises from the entry. The family room centers on a fireplace flanked by built-in niches, and a moody powder room features floral wallpaper and brass fixtures. Wide-plank oak floors tie the home together.
